Turmeric latte
Turmeric latte is a delicious drink with many properties, including anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, which makes it perfect for those suffering from stress or flu, for example. Turmeric latte or golden milk is simply fantastic!
Turmeric Latte Ingredients
- 500 ml Milk or vegetable drink
- 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder (I put half a tablespoon per person, but you can put more or less to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon of powdered ginger
- Nails 2 (optional)
- Green cardamom 1 (optional)
- A pinch of ground black pepper or 2 whole grains
- Sweetener (honey, brown sugar, xylitol, erythritol, coconut sugar...) to your liking
Elaboration
1. Heat the milk in a saucepan with the cinnamon, cloves, split cardamom, pepper and ginger over medium-high heat, but not to the boil. Lower the heat before it reaches boiling point and add the turmeric, stirring constantly. Cook over very low heat for at least 5 minutes.
2. Taste and add the chosen sweetener.
3. Serve piping hot and sprinkle a little more cinnamon and turmeric powder to decorate (to taste).
Optional
The optional spices are there to give it more flavor and a different touch, so you can start by trying the basic recipe, and if next time you want to give it a more exotic aroma, add them.
