Production process
Harvesting: This is done during the flowering period of the plant, which takes place between the months of October and November. This work is done by hand.
De-stalking: This involves separating the red stigmas from the rest of the flower using firm finger pressure, cutting along the stem. The different qualities recognized will depend on the amount of red and yellow parts it contains; the more red it contains, the more active ingredients the whole will contain.
Roasting: This task, perhaps the most important, consists of drying or roasting the strands separated during the stripping.
